Welcome to the Garden Meadow Website

Here you will find practical information on how to create a wildflower meadow from your garden lawn without having to dig it up! The information is based on direct experience that I have gained from creating a meadow out of my own front lawn in 2005. All I did was change the mowing regime, add a few selected wildflowers as seeds and plants then let nature do the rest. I have been amazed by the results!

I describe how I cut the meadow, the methods used to introduce new plants and show a list of species recorded in the meadow. The rest of our small garden is managed for wildlife, especially bumblebees and there is plenty of information about that too.
